2020 Vision

The southern hemisphere summer of 2019-20 was a pretty tough one here in Australia. It has been a terrible combination of continuing drought and catastrophic bush fires. The impact on our environment, native animals and human toll has meant that the normal frivolity and celebration that usually goes hand in hand with summer holidays, Christmas and New Year has felt incongruous. I am truly hoping that as we head into the year that 2020 becomes a much kinder period. I hope for rain, I hope for good leadership in the recovery of decimated communities and bushland and hope for a less anxious existence. I want to see a return of hope and optimism and a shared vision.

So with that hope and optimism in mind I thought I would share where my business and I are heading in 2020. Vintage and antique shoppers and style gurus in the know have been fans of Dirty Janes Bowral for many years. Located in the beautiful town of Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW it is a wonderful destination for all things vintage. Now one is opening in Canberra at the end of March.

I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to have a space here to reach a wider audience. Then an opportunity to be a part of the Dirty Janes team came up. I wasnt looking for a job but it seemed so exciting to me so I applied. I am so thrilled to be the market manager there! So I am going to be a very busy girl; writing my dissertation for my masters, working full time and keeping my space there under the banner of The Blue Stocking Society fully stocked with beautiful vintage and antique books, prints and furniture.

I do hope you will visit us there! The grand opening is March 28th. If you want to keep up to date with all the wonderful events follow Dirty Janes Canberrra on Instagram and Facebook
